Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains how Sideacre LLC ("we," "us," or "our") handles information in connection with the Last Light mobile application ("Last Light" or the "App").
By using the App, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
1. Summary
Last Light is designed primarily as an on-device hunting-hours planning tool. The App can use GPS location or a saved zip code to estimate sunrise, sunset, and hunting hours. The App may store settings and planning data locally on your device.
The App may also display ads through third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob. Those services may collect or process information according to their own privacy policies and your device privacy settings.
The App sends automatic crash and error reports to a third-party crash reporting service so we can find and fix problems. Those reports contain technical diagnostic information about the failure and your device. They are not linked to your identity, they are not used for advertising or tracking, and we remove your coordinates and zip code from them before they are sent.
2. Information We May Collect or Store
If you grant location permission, the App may access your device's approximate or precise location to calculate sunrise, sunset, and hunting hours. The App may store recent latitude and longitude coordinates locally on your device so it can calculate times without asking for location every time.
If you enter a zip code, the App may store that zip code locally on your device and use it to estimate coordinates for sunrise, sunset, and hunting hours.
The App may store settings, preferences, hunt plans, hunt notes, stand names, notification preferences, widget data, and Live Activity data locally on your device.
If ads are enabled, third-party advertising services such as Google AdMob may collect or process device identifiers, advertising identifiers, approximate location, usage data, diagnostics, or other information for ad delivery, fraud prevention, measurement, and, if permitted, personalized advertising.
Crash Reports and Diagnostic Information
The App uses a third-party crash reporting service (Sentry, operated by Functional Software, Inc.) to report crashes and errors automatically so we can identify and fix them. A crash report may include the error and its technical stack trace, your device model, operating system version, App version, a short record of the App events leading up to the failure, and whether the session ended in a crash.
Crash reports are not linked to your identity, are not used for advertising or tracking, and are not sold. There is no account system in the App, so there is no identity to link them to.
Before a crash report leaves your device, the App removes location information from it — latitude and longitude coordinates, your saved zip code, and any values stored under location-related fields. Crash reports never include screenshots or images of the App's screens, so they cannot contain your stand names or hunt notes.
Diagnostics You Choose to Send
The App's Settings screen includes a "Copy Diagnostics" option. When you use it, the App copies a plain-text support report to your device clipboard and can open a pre-filled email to us.
Unlike an automatic crash report, this report does include your saved zip code and an approximate location rounded to about one kilometer, because those are usually necessary to diagnose an incorrect hunting-hours calculation. It also includes your App version, device and operating system, time zone, hunting-hour rule settings, notification permission status, and the scheduled reminders and hunt timings the App is currently holding.
Nothing is sent automatically. The report is placed on your clipboard, you can read all of it before sending, and it reaches us only if you choose to send it. If you do send it, we use it only to answer your support request.

4. How Information Is Stored
Most App data is stored locally on your device using device storage. Deleting the App may delete locally stored App data, depending on your device and operating system behavior. We do not operate a user account system for the App at this time.
Crash reports are stored by our crash reporting provider on their servers. We do not operate a server that stores your hunt plans, hunt notes, coordinates, or zip code.
5. Information Sharing
We do not sell your locally stored hunt plans, hunt notes, saved zip code, or locally stored coordinates. We do not sell crash reports or support diagnostics.
We may share or allow processing of information with third-party service providers used to operate App features, such as advertising services and our crash reporting provider; with app stores and operating system providers; if required by law; to protect rights and safety; or in connection with a business transfer.
6. Third-Party Services
The App may use third-party services, including Google AdMob for advertising and Sentry (Functional Software, Inc.) for crash and error reporting. Third-party services may collect information directly from your device and may use that information under their own privacy policies.
Learn more about Sentry's privacy practices at sentry.io/privacy.
Learn more about Google privacy practices at policies.google.com/privacy and how Google uses information from apps that use its services at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.
7. Your Choices
You can grant, deny, or revoke location permission in your device settings. You can enable or disable notifications in the App or in your device settings. On iOS, you can allow or deny tracking through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt or in device settings.
Automatic crash reports are sent only when the App crashes or hits an error, and contain the technical information described above with location information removed. The support report produced by "Copy Diagnostics" is never sent automatically — it reaches us only if you choose to email it.
8. Data Retention
Locally stored App data remains on your device until you change it, reset it, delete it, or delete the App. Third-party services may retain information according to their own policies.
Crash reports are retained by our crash reporting provider for a limited period according to the retention settings on our account, and are then deleted. Support emails you send us, including any diagnostics you paste into them, are retained in our email account until we delete them.
9. Children's Privacy
The App is intended for users who are legally permitted to hunt or assist with hunting activities in their jurisdiction. The App is not intended for children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Minors should use the App only with permission and supervision from a parent or legal guardian.
10. Security
We use reasonable measures designed to protect information handled by the App. Last Light is designed to store most App data locally on your device and does not operate user accounts or a Sideacre LLC server for storing your hunt plans, hunt notes, saved zip code, or locally stored coordinates. Crash reports are transmitted over an encrypted connection to our crash reporting provider with location information removed. Access to location is controlled through your device permissions, and you can revoke that access in device settings.
No app, device, storage method, or transmission method is completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your device secure, including using device passcodes, biometric authentication, operating system updates, and other protections available on your device. Third-party services used by the App, such as advertising services, maintain their own security practices.
11. International Users
The App is intended primarily for use in the United States. If you use the App outside the United States, you are responsible for complying with local laws and understanding that privacy laws may differ from those in your location.
12. Changes to This Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the effective date above or provide notice where appropriate.
